The SFU Choir rehearses at Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus (even though ANYONE willing to come up the mountain every week can join). This semester, we will be rehearsing on Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 PM, starting on January 19th, 2012. Our first session will be in Blusson Hall 9660, and then we'll be in Images Theatre for most of the rest of the semester. We also have our semesterly day-long choir retreat on Sunday, February 5th (which is essentially a long rehearsal with a lunch break and plenty of fun games for glittering prizes!).

The choir performs concerts each semester and also sings at Remembrance Day ceremonies, convocation ceremonies, and other events on campus and in the community.

We are a volunteer, non-auditioned group open to all, but choir members are expected to regularly attend rehearsals and the semester retreat, and to practice their parts on their own time. We usually put up practice files under “Resources” (members-only access) so that you can download your part and listen to it on whatever portable music-playing device you own. No musical experience is needed, but the ability to read music is an asset (if you can't read music, we'll help you learn).

But before all that, please come find us at Clubs Days (10:30 AM – 2:30 PM, January 17-19, 2012, SFU Burnaby) for a more personal introduction to the Choir, as well as a preview of this semester's music and the opportunity to make some music with us!

We charge a non-refundable club fee of $10 and a refundable music deposit of $10, provided that you return the music to us in good condition at the end of the semester.
